As we moved out of the IIT main gate we found arjun singh's big poster stuck on a hoarding just outside IIT.Written 'IIT Bombay welcomes our honorable Education Minister Mr. arjun Singh.' "They will soon be regretting" a voice containing suppressed anger struck our ears. "Why to involve politics in IIT" he continued.I turned back and saw professor PI Iyer's anxious face as though a caring father has seen his son drinking for the first time.I wondered whats the matter, our education minister had been invited for institutes's convocation ceremony, so what.How is it equivalent to involving IIT into politics?
Well, the very next day the convocation ceremony happened and the chief guest was honored with flowers, garlands and claps.
Not more than 2-3 months passed one fine morning we read about Arjun Singh's scheme of reservation in IIT.And then started scene. Every news channel was showing same or similar news. People on the roads were being interviewed.It became hottest news of the nation. And most comic scene could be seen inside the campus where two students were holding a banner in there hands written "1947 Lord Curzon, 2007 arjun Singh.Don't divide our country". Most interestingly one of the student was same who honored Mr. Arjun singh with garlands and flowers on convocation day.
It had to happen and we are suffering.He because of his degraded, politically oriented thinking harmed roots of one of the finest universities of the world.

Now I had all my answers. What Prof. Iyer could see that night was nothing less than indication of an storm coming.
